Dear Parents,
I am very to start this year with your student in my class! We have small class sizes so we will be able to try a lot of things and see what is best for each student.
I am always happy to talk with parents, and I will communicate with you when you child is struggling AND when they are doing well.
I encourage to support your child at home, and especially to use the Growth Mindset. Essentially, Growth Mindset is the idea that "thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence but as a heartening springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities." Carol Dweck
You can see what we are doing in class (including pictures and videos) on this website, via my twitter (@SuperMsKaufman), and on your child's blog (which we are in the process of building).
I update grades every week, and I expect students to check their grades every week. You can see your child's grades on Eaglenet, but you will need to log in using their account.
If you have questions, I suggest checking the Class FAQ page (link in the menu bar above) and I am happy to clarify or explain anything that is not clear.
I will be building and updating this page and the whole website throughout the year, so I suggest checking back frequently and seeing what is new and what has changed.
Have a wonderful year, and I look forward to meeting you all in person!
Laura Kaufman
